Weddings
The
Herlong Mansion staff is skilled in making dreams come true. You may wish
to share a garden service at the gazebo with a few friends and family or
you might like to invite guests to a more formal service, followed by a
reception under the stars. Whatever your dream, we're available to assist
so that your special day is relaxing and enjoyable for everyone, including
you!
Garden weddings with receptions include use of
grounds
with
fully groomed lawns, abundant flower beds, rose-lined walkways and a
gazebo draped in jasmine
for
wedding ceremonies. Also included is seating for up to 100 with set up for
ceremony and break down and replacement for reception.
Specialty items included use of grand front porch flanked with Corinthian
columns for use as reception area or dance floor. Antique furnished
banquet room seats up to 60 and provides indoor space for guests.

We also
include nine round and three banquet tables for indoor or outdoor use. Our staff
will oversee and assist with all aspects of your event included set up and
removal of rented items, such as tents and extra tables.
Weddings
are best scheduled between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Guests are
welcome to serve beer, wine and champagne.
(No hard liquor please).
Pre-payment plus sales tax required for garden wedding and reception at
time of reservation.
Garden weddings do not
include interior use of mansion.
Micanopy is known for its peaceful, quiet surroundings; therefore we ask,
please, no amplified music and receptions must conclude by 9:00 p.m. We
want to keep our town and neighbors happy!
Catering
Catering
is handled in-house for your convenience. The cost of catering is
not included in our package prices. Guests are welcome to hire licensed
caterers to cover their event. We recommend Custom Caterers.
Seating & Reception Area
Tables and
chairs are included in your fee. Our newly refurbished
reception building and room is available for
indoor
receptions.
We
also include nine round and three banquet tables for indoor or outdoor use. Our

Other Private Events
We are wonderfully
suited for outdoor celebrations of all kinds. Our Corinthian columns
provide a dramatic backdrop for your wedding, while our gazebo lends an
air of garden tranquility. Tents may be rented for outdoor receptions
Indoor events may take place in the Long Hall, which can accommodate up
to 60 seated guests. Guests are welcome to serve beer, wine and champagne
at catered events.
Capacity
The Gardens can accommodate up to 100 guests. Indoor events
at the Long Hall provide seating or buffet service for up to 60 persons.
The Herlong dining room provides seating for up to 20.
Musical Entertainment
Music
may be played until 9 pm in the Garden. Micanopy is known for its
peaceful, quiet surroundings therefore we ask, please, no amplified
music. All functions must conclude by 9 pm with all guests not
staying at the Herlong departed, and all registered guests retiring to
the mansion with bar and all catering services closed.
Wedding and Event Packages
We
offer several basic packages that will provide a structure for your
event. This includes the services of our experienced wedding
coordinator Karrie, chairs and tables for up to 100 (including white
table cloths). You may then add custom elements to make the day
exactly right for you and your guests. The
Horse and Carriage service and
the White Dove release are particularly unique and beautiful
additions.

Wedding and Event Policies
All
prices subject to 9% taxes and 10% service charge for Herlong
Staff--Prices include only items and services specified –Requests for
any additional services, decorating, or decorative items will be
charged accordingly.
Event Reservations -- A 50% deposit is required to reserve Herlong
Mansion or our grounds for your event. These deposits are
NONREFUNDABLE and are due at the time of booking, so please be certain
of your dates and the location when you reserve for your event.
In House Caterers – Our
Custom Caterers will be able to provide you with any style catered
event you choose. They will meet with you, offer menu suggestions,
present sample tastings and help you decide what you would like served
at your affair. They will custom make your wedding cake per your
design ideas. Our Caterer is also able to serve hors d’oeuvres or
prepare finger foods for smaller venues. All Caterers must be fully
licensed and insured. Self-catering is not available.
Planning Services
–Karrie is our Event Planner/Consultant and will help you with all
your wedding plans, from suggesting photographers, florists, DJs,
etc. to guiding you through your rehearsal, to sending you smoothly
down the aisle. If you reside out of town, planning for a destination
wedding or event can be very stressful and we can insure that you
receive the best local services and you will be able to relax and
enjoy everything when you have a professional planner looking
after the smallest detail before, during and after your event.
Smoking - For the comfort of all our guests,
Herlong Mansion is a non-smoking facility, including the grounds.
